Great way to use peppers from the garden! Adapted from: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/air-fryer-pepper-poppers/
Ingredients
12 jalapeño, hatch, or other hollow green chilies
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 ½ cups shredded cheese (we used Mexican blend, but any combination should be delish!)
¼ cup green onion, chopped
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp chili powder
¼ tsp smoked paprika
½ cup bread crumbs
Directions
1
Preheat air fryer to 325°F for 3 minutes.
2
Slice each chili pepper in half, then remove ribs and seeds.
3
In a large bowl, combine the cheeses, green onion and seasonings; mix well.
4
Spoon cheese mixture into each pepper half, then roll in bread crumbs
5
Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, and add the peppers in a single layer to the basket.
6
Cook the peppers for 15 minutes at 325°F.
Notes
7
Some people like to add cooked crumbled bacon to the cheese mixture as well!
